Digicities

Digicities is project that aims to overcome the barriers to accessibility and exchange of data for decision-making at a utility and municipality scale. Description

Data can make an important contribution to solving social problems. This is especially true at the municipal level, where data from private companies and other public institutions, combined with innovative analysis tools and trust-building formats, open up new possibilities for solutions.

Optimal data utilization is not achieved due to data silos, communication barriers between actors, a lack of incentives for data exchange, and inadequate infrastructure and restrictive data protection, among other factors.

Our Urban Data Mesh was used as a protected space in which cooperation constellations and formats could be tested. Both open and non-accessible data from public authorities and private sector actors were made available in order to derive insights for sustainable urban development.
